About the Founder & Baker
Hi, I’m Aliyah, the founder and head baker at Sugar Mama’s Sweet Shop
After years in a fast-paced sales career, I realized I wanted something different. Something more creative, hands-on, genuinely fun—and ideally, something that could bring real joy to other people’s lives. At the time, I was baking after work as a creative outlet, but before long people started asking me to bake for their birthdays, weddings, and surprise parties. That made me realize how much people appreciated having something beautiful and delicious to share, especially when they didn’t have the time to bake themselves.
And that’s when Sugar Mama’s was born.
Five years in, Sugar Mama’s has grown into a business trusted to be part of weddings, office events, and all kinds of special occasions across Stockholm. One thing I’ve learned along the way is that cupcakes aren’t just dessert—they’re part of the whole experience. When done right, they help hosts feel proud of their event and excited to share something memorable with their guests.
Today, Sugar Mama’s is all about making celebrations easier. Whether it’s a team gathering, a birthday party, or a big milestone, my goal is always the same: show up with something that looks great, tastes amazing, and takes one thing off your plate. And of course, keep that little element of surprise.
I built Sugar Mama’s to create joy, and nothing makes me happier than seeing that joy show up in other people’s lives.

Do you offer gluten free and/or vegan cupcakes?

Yes, we offer vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free cupcake options, and we do our best to accommodate dietary preferences. Please note that our kitchen handles common allergens, so we can’t guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. If you have specific requirements, just let us know when ordering.
How far in advance should I order cupcakes?

Do you deliver?

Yes! We are pleased to offer delivery across Greater Stockholm. Delivery within Stockholm is 249 SEK, with time slots available from 09–12, 12–15, or 18–21 on weekends and weekday delivery between 18–21. For locations outside central Stockholm, we’ll calculate the delivery cost and confirm it with you before you place your order. Need delivery outside these hours? Get in touch—we’ll do our best to help.
Can I pick up cupcakes myself?

Of course! Our pickup location is Södermannagatan 50, in Södermalm, Stockholm. Contact us to arrange a pickup time!
What are your opening hours?

We might be crazy about cupcakes, but even bakers need to refuel! To keep delivering our best, our opening hours are Monday–Friday, 09–17. Any emails or calls received outside these hours will be answered the next business day. If something urgent comes up, please email us with ‘URGENT’ in the Subject Line and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Note: we are closed during red days.
Do you require a deposit?

Due to the elaborate nature of our cupcakes, preparation for your order begins days in advance, and we bake the cupcakes to order. For this reason, we require a 50% deposit for your order in order to account for all the necessary preparations, and avoid unnecessary food waste.
Where are your cupcakes made?

Our cupcakes, along with every element of our products–including caramels, ganaches, jams, and curds–are all made in house at our home bakery in Södermalm.
Is there a minimum order quantity?

Our minimum order is 12 cupcakes. This allows us to prepare your order with care and ensure everything is baked fresh and ready on time. Need fewer cupcakes? Get in touch—we’ll always do our best to help.
